parts for tow bar

I have just bought an Roadmaster Explorer hitch. It came from a Chevy Impala. I had called a dealer about the plates to hook up to a jeep and when I got over the sticker shock. I figured I better start asking around. He told me the plates are $400.00 and have to order. I need to figure out something because I only paid $200.00 for the hitch. We are going to pickup the jeep in Sept in San Diego. So I need to have everything ready before we go. I can drill holes out there but that is about it.
Thank you

RE: Fiesta questions

Has any body had any troubles with there switcher from 1 a/c unit to the other? I really like the idea of not having to change the plug from 30 amp to 50 amp.

Fiesta questions

Okay people here is some more questions. Is the Fleetwood Fiesta something to think about? There is a dealer that has some on the lot and from what I have seen they look better than the Holiday Rambler Arista. And it does seem to me there is a lot more Fleetwood dealers than HR dealers. I am sorry to ask so many questions but we are still looking and just seem to get more confused.
Thank you for your time.

Ford or chevy

Here is the question. We are looking at Holiday ramblers and is there going to be a big difference between Ford and Chevy? We have always been GM and i know there allison tranny can't be beat. But how good is the Ford in that size coach? It is going to be the Arista or Admiral but don't know for sure just yet. The dear wife has to drive an A. It is a lot bigger than the C we have now.

RE: Allegro

Is there that much of a difference between the Bay and the other? And I just learned that with both A/C systems on with a 5.5 gen set you can't run the micro. It this true? I guess what I am trying to find out is it worth driving to Bossier City just to look at it? I kind of like the low mileage and 2 years newer but if it's not worth a 4 hour drive I am not going. Maybe I am trying to move to quick on this.

Allegro

Okay people I am little lost here. We are looking at 2 different coaches are Tiffen products and here is the test for me.
2004 Allegro Bay 34' with about 22000 miles and the asking price is 59999.00. We went to look at it and found out it has a workhorse frame.
Another Allegro 2006 TSA with 7000 miles and workhorse frame. But it is in Louisiana. The price last week was 64995.00 this week I don't know.
Should I start steering towards the 2006 model? This is our first A and want to make sure. We have had a class c for 4.5 years and time to move up.
Thank you:)

RE: question

There is a used one just down the street from here but have not looked at it just. It is a 2004 Allegro bay for about 60000 and a Chevy chassie. Here is another question on about 32ft to 35ft models. Do most of them get about 8mpg and the diesels get about 10 or they just trying to blow smoke up my you know what. But time will tell on what we do.

question

Okay people here is another question. I know it seems the tiffen is more popular than other ones. But what about Coachman,Georgie boy and Fourwinds? I have found some used ones but don't know for sure. We have been class c and now want to move to something with more space but to many of them out there. And seems to be very hard to find a used Allegro that is in good shape.
Thank you:)

RE: what is the difference

Can you tell me who does not have a flat roof? Ours is fiberglass and flat and it is not good when there is a hail storm.

what is the difference

I would like to know what is the difference between a Sunseeker and a Forester? Both look to have the same floor plans but don't know anything about these coaches. We are ready to up grade but can't make up our mind from all the different makes. We now have a Itasca sundancer but want something with a slide. I think we have looked at Jayco, Four winds, Fleetwood, etc. I know a lot has to do with the dealer support also. That is why I will never buy another coach from the local Winnabago or Itasca dealer. Got any ideas?

class a decision

We started to look a 2 different class a models and wanted to know what other people thought. The 2 models are the Fleetwood southwind and the Tiffen Allegro. Both models has driver side doors and 2 slides. We are trying to stay about 32 to 34 ft. We are unsure about the stove or refer moving in the slides. Have not found out about the roofs if they are flat or crowned. The warranty how long and if they are any good. I don't know of another brand that has the driver door. I am not going through another flat roof problem again. Our class c has that and you have to watch it all the time sense the hail storm got ahold of it last year. Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you

RE: Towing with a 35' GS Jayco Seneca

If they can tow that much. Then it should be possible to tow a 2000 Silverado right? But here is the other question how do I find out if the truck is able to tow?
Thanks
